I work with a small number of beginner, intermediate, and advanced guitar and Irish tenor banjo players who want clear direction, structure, and measurable progress.
I’ve been playing for nearly 30 years, teaching professionally for around 20, and I’m also an examiner for RSL Awards. Many of my guitar students work through the RSL syllabus, which provides clear goals, accountability, and long-term progression. Other students work on more specific personal goals, depending on what they want to achieve.
I also teach Irish tenor banjo, also known as 4-string banjo, with a clear and structured approach for players who want to build solid technique, improve picking, understand the fretboard, learn tunes, and make steady progress.
I keep my one-to-one student numbers limited so each person receives proper attention, guidance, and a personalised approach.
Lessons are focused, practical, and results-driven, whether you’re building strong fundamentals, improving lead playing, developing technique and speed, preparing for exams, learning Irish tenor banjo, or simply trying to break through a plateau. Every student follows a structured plan, so you always know what to practise and why.
If that sounds like a good fit, send me an email outlining your current level, your goals, and your availability, and I’ll let you know whether I can help.
Coaching is available online via Microsoft Teams or in person at my home studio in Kettering, UK.
